Blanch the asparagus in boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Drain and blot with a clean cloth. Cut into slightly smaller pieces.
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan, fry the paprika strips and garlic (and possibly chilli pepper) in it for about 1 minute. Add the asparagus pieces and fry for about 2 minutes. Drizzle over the soy sauce and sesame oil, just shake and swirl the pan, do not stir.
Sprinkle with the toasted sesame seeds (remove the chilli pepper) and serve hot. It goes well with toasted bread and a spicy salsa or yogurt sauce.
