Break the green beans, i.e. free the ends of the beans (break off) and break through the beans again in the middle if necessary.
Rinse the beans well under water in a sieve and then put them in a saucepan with water, half a teaspoon of salt and the savory. Now cook the beans through, which takes about a quarter of an hour.
In the meantime, peel the garlic and cut into very small pieces (do not press!).
When the beans are done, they are poured into a colander to drain.
Heat olive oil in a pan. A pan in which meat or sausage has already been fried is ideal for this, because then the rest of the meat flavor is still in the pan. As soon as the oil is hot, add the beans to the pan. Add the finely chopped garlic, season with salt and pepper and toss briefly over high heat. Be careful not to burn the garlic. After a very short time (approx. 1 min.) Take it out of the pan to serve.
This goes perfectly with mashed potatoes and bratwurst or schnitzel or other pan-fried foods.
