Peel the asparagus, cut off the woody end and season the asparagus with lemon juice, a pinch of sugar and pepper. Since the bacon is salty, no salt is needed. Wrap each stick with two slices of bacon and wrap the asparagus with a piece of butter in two layers of aluminum foil and close tightly. Grill the packet for about 20 minutes and serve the asparagus with the sauce from the aluminum foil and new potatoes.
