Pour enough cane sugar into a carafe or punch bowl until the bottom is well covered. Squeeze the lemon. Put the orange juice with the pineapple juice and lemon juice with crushed ice in a shaker. If you use food coloring, add it directly. Shake everything well until it is frothy and pour into the carafe / container. It is beautifully creepy green now.
Then add the fruits. If you use syrup (or the alcoholic version Blue Curacao), the syrup is only added to the carafe when the rest is already filled. If you pour carefully, a great layer will settle on the bottom. Then stir very carefully and the green rises from the bottom to the top, great effect.
Hang the wine gumworms on the edge of the carafe. If these come into contact with the punch, swell them up nicely.
