I know that many people simply adore hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and other sandwiches, but not everyone prefers to buy them in a bistro, so for adherents of home cooking, I propose to cook such a simple but delicious hamburger with ground turkey meat.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it sizzles. Add the chopped onion and salt, cook, stirring occasionally, until soft and golden brown, about 5 minutes.
Add the garlic and chili powder, stir for about 30 seconds. Add the ground turkey and cook, stirring and breaking it up with the edge of a spoon, until browned and cooked through (internal temperature 74°C/165°F), about 5-7 minutes.
Stir in the black pepper, brown sugar, tomato sauce, BBQ sauce, and water. Reduce heat to medium and cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 8-10 minutes. Taste and adjust seasonings if needed.
Divide the meat mixture evenly among the hamburger buns and serve immediately.
