Instructions

  1. This is a recipe for handbread that many people are sure to know from “Rock im Park”. Hearty and a good basis for every starved festival visitor. It is great for the next party.
  2. Weigh out the flour, add a little salt (if you like, other spices as well) and press a small depression in the middle into which the yeast crumbles. Pour in the lukewarm water completely and let it rest for a few minutes.
  3. Then knead well with a hand mixer until you have a smooth and elastic dough that can be easily removed from the edge of the bowl. Let rise in a warm place for 50 minutes.
  4. If no sour cream is available, it can be replaced with a dip, which you could prepare in the meantime: Mix the sour cream with the sour cream and season with pepper, salt and a splash of lemon juice. Fresh chives rolls or chopped sour cucumbers round off the whole thing wonderfully.
  5. Back to the bread: preheat the oven to 240 ° C.
  6. The dough should have risen a little. Divide into two equal portions and roll one half out on a floured surface. Press the long dough flat in the middle so that you can distribute the ingredients for your filling on it. Put the cheese first, then the mushrooms and ham. You also roll out the other portion of dough and then place it on top of your filling and press the dough together at the edges. At the points where the handbreads are to be separated later, you can either cut your bread slightly or just press in a “predetermined breaking point” with the back of the knife. Dust with a little flour and put in the oven. The bread is baked after 20-25 minutes.
  7. Allow to cool slightly. Then divide into the given portions and add a dash of sour cream or dip on top to serve.
