Instructions

  1. Prepare the batter of the bread mix according to the instructions.
  2. For 1000 g of my baking mixture, I added 720 ml of water and kneaded the dough with the dough hook of a hand mixer. (If necessary, follow the instructions on the package.) When the dough comes off the edge of the bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel and place it in a warm place for 45 minutes.
  3. Then sprinkle the work surface with flour, divide the dough into 2 loaves and roll out a loaf of bread, approx. 40 cm x 20 cm.
  4. Now briefly brown the bacon until crispy and cut the boiled ham into small strips.
  5. Now you can sprinkle your filling in the middle as you like. Mushrooms or similar are also optional. possible.
  6. When you have filled the rolled out dough with bacon, ham and cheese, first fold over the two short ends and then the two long ends.
  7. Now you turn the bread over once so that the folding edge is at the bottom. And off to the baking sheet lined with baking paper. Now do the whole thing again with the rest of the dough.
  8. As the last step before baking, you take the blunt side of a knife and make 2 notches in each bread, so that you get 3 pieces per bread. Now make a diagonal cut through each section and, if necessary, let it rest until your guests come.
  9. In the meantime, cut the chives.
  10. Bake in the oven at 200 ° C - this varies depending on the bread dough - for about 25 minutes depending on the desired browning. Let cool down briefly.
  11. To serve, place a tablespoon of crème fraîche on each bread and sprinkle with the chives.
  12. Note / tip:
  13. For very large handbreads, halve the dough - this makes 6 large loaves - and for the normal size you divide the dough into 3 balls - this results in 9 loaves.
