Instructions

  1. This snack goes perfectly with any type of party. These delicious pizza poppers are guaranteed to disappear in no time.
  2. 1. If necessary, cut the salami into thin slices or dice the ham or vegetables very small.
  3. 2. Flour the work surface, place the pizza dough on it and roll it out thinly. Then cut out circles with a diameter of approx. 10 cm from the dough. Knead the leftover dough, roll out again and cut out.
  4. 3. Spread the pastry circles thinly with tomato paste, leaving some of the edge free, sprinkle with pepper and pizza spice, cover with a slice of salami - possibly halved - and sprinkle some mozzarella.
  5. 4. Shape the pastry slices into balls with your hands, making sure that the dough is properly sealed at the seams.
  6. 5. Put deep-frying oil in a pan and heat it to around 160 - 185 degrees. If a thermo is not available, the temperature can be tested by holding a wooden spoon handle in the oil. If there are plenty of bubbles in it, the oil is at the right temperature.
  7. 6. Now put the pizza poppers in the hot oil and fry them, turning them occasionally, until they are golden yellow or slightly brown in color. Alternatively, the poppers can also be baked in a greased spring or bundt cake pan at 200 degrees, convection 180 degrees, in the oven.
  8. 7. Let the finished pizza poppers drain briefly on kitchen paper and then immediately roll them in the parmesan.
  9. 8. To prepare the dip, add a few drops of oil to the cream cheese, season with pepper, pizza spice and garlic granules, add a teaspoon of tomato paste and stir everything together thoroughly.
  10. 9. Have fun with the preparation and then have a good appetite!
