Instructions

  1. Season the 4 chicken legs with salt and pepper. Fry them in the butter over medium-high heat until golden brown on all sides, about 6 minutes total.
  2. While the chicken cooks, peel and core the apple, quarter it, and cut into thin slices. Add the apple slices to the pan and sweat over medium heat for 2 minutes.
  3. Pour in the 2 cl calvados and the 1 cup apple cider. Simmer over medium heat for 20 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the whipped cream with the beaten egg whites. Fold in the curry powder, marjoram, and thyme. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  5. Spoon the cream mixture over the chicken legs. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 10 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Serve with spaetzle, rice, or mashed potatoes.
