Instructions

  1. Half an hour before you want to have breakfast, mix the fruit muesli with oat flakes or spelled flakes and wheat / oat bran in a small saucepan. Add enough water to just cover the flakes. Cover the muesli and stir every now and then. If you don`t have that much time, get it ready the night before and put the soaked flakes in the fridge.
  2. Put the halved cherries or chopped peaches in a pan and season with cinnamon and clove powder to taste. If you take apples and / or pears, peel them, cut them into small pieces and also put them in a pan with the spices and a splash of lemon juice.
  3. Now briefly heat the muesli well on the highest level for about 1 minute. Be careful that it doesn`t burn too much on the ground. Always add a little water, but only just as much as the flakes can absorb. The muesli should then have formed a solid mass after about 5 minutes on medium heat.
  4. At the same time you heat the fruit. Cherries and peaches tolerate greater and longer heat, while apples and pears depend on the degree of ripeness. The softer the fruit, the shorter it should be heated. That is why very firm fruit is best for the muesli.
  5. As soon as the flakes are ready, add the fruit and put everything in a cereal bowl.
  6. Tip: If you have, sprinkle a little crunchy muesli and / or dried cranberries on top.
  7. That sounds a lot and stressful at first, but over time it levels off and it almost works by itself. It is particularly pleasant on cold days or, for example, as dinner.
