Instructions

  1. The cooking and baking time is 20 minutes.
  2. First prepare the fried onions. To do this, cut the onions into rings 3 - 5 mm thick. Meanwhile, heat some oil in a pan. Put the onion rings in the pan and fry them brown in a few minutes. In addition, the sausages can be cut into 3 - 5 mm thick slices and the cucumbers diced.
  3. Take the onions out of the pan and store them temporarily. Then fry the sausages and cucumber cubes briefly in the pan. If necessary, a little more oil can be added.
  4. Now add enough mustard, ketchup and mayonnaise to the sausage and cucumber to make a little sauce. But you don`t want the hot dog buns to float in the sauce later.
  5. Cut open the hot dog buns and place the undersides side by side in the baking dish. I don`t grease the baking dish for this recipe beforehand, because the rolls can be removed from the mold so easily. But if you want, you can still grease the shape a little beforehand.
  6. Now sprinkle about a third of the cheddar cheese on the rolls and then spread the sausage and cucumber mixture on top. Spread the fried onions evenly over the mass and then place the tops of the hot dog buns on top.
  7. Now sprinkle the rest of the cheddar cheese over it and place everything in the preheated oven at 180 ° C top and bottom heat for approx. 15 minutes until the cheddar cheese slowly turns brown.
