Hot Sandwiches with Onion-Tomato Sauce and Cheese Instructions

  1. Prepare all the ingredients for making hot sandwiches with onion-tomato sauce and cheese.
If desired, dried garlic can be replaced with fresh garlic, passed through a press, but note that then the garlic taste and smell will be very intense. It is better to remove the butter from the refrigerator first.
  2. Transfer the softened butter to a deep plate. Add half of the dried garlic.
  3. Mix the oil and garlic well.
  4. Grease slices of bread with fragrant garlic oil on one side.
  5. Cut the cheese into thin slices, setting aside about a third for serving. Turn one slice of bread butter down and put a few slices of cheese on the side where there is no butter.

  6. Cover with the second slice of bread, the non-butter side down, with the butter side up.
Use the same principle to assemble a second sandwich.
  7. Grease a frying pan with vegetable oil and heat well. Fry the sandwiches over medium heat, about 1 minute on each side, until crisp.

  8. Peel the onion and cut it into small cubes.
  9. Heat the remaining vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the onion with the remaining dried garlic until the onion is soft and light brown.
  10. Pour in tomato juice, reduce heat and simmer for a couple of minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Mix well.
  11. Put half the sauce in a baking dish. Then place the fried sandwiches on top, and on them carefully place the other half of the sauce.
  12. Grate the remaining cheese and sprinkle it on the sandwiches. Send to the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for 10-15 minutes.
  13. Juicy and aromatic hot cheese sandwiches topped with tomato-onion sauce are ready.

Enjoy your meal!
