Heat a pan and brush with the butter fat. Fry the lettuce strips in it over moderate heat, season with salt and pepper. Deglaze with a little water and let the lid collapse.
Continue to steam for approx. 5 minutes until the desired firmness is achieved. Dust with curry and vanilla powder and flavor. It shouldn`t taste too strong!
The vegetables taste good with fish as well as as an accompaniment to meat dishes; other solid salads can also be prepared in this way.
