Instructions

  1. Cut the onion into rings that are not too thick but not too thin either. Remove 6 rings and chop the rest for the minced meat patties.
  2. Cut the tomato into 6 slices. If it is too small for 6 slices, add a second or third tomato. Large tomatoes work best.
  3. Mix the ground beef and onions in a bowl and season well with salt and pepper. Then shape 6 burger patties by hand. Depending on how big and thick the patties are supposed to be, fewer servings can be made. I always got there with 6 servings.
  4. Add some oil to the pan and as soon as it is hot, add the patties. Fry these well on each side. Just before the end of the roasting process, place the cheese slices on the patties and let them melt slightly.
  5. Meanwhile, cut off 6 leaves of the iceberg lettuce, as these will serve as buns. Once the patties are ready, assemble the burger by placing the meat, tomatoes and onions in the lettuce leaf.
  6. I never used a sauce or ketchup, etc., because I like it so much. Of course you can equip it as you like. With or without cheese, with fried onions or with cucumber etc., etc.
