Put rice in a bowl and wash three to four times. Add more water to the rice and let stand for about 30 minutes.
Pour off the water and transfer the rice to a saucepan with a lid. Add 250 ml of water. It is very important to use a lid and never remove the lid. If the lid has a hole, put a cloth over the hole. Turn the stove to the highest setting and bring to the boil. Do not lift the lid, just put the stove on the lowest setting. Simmer for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, remove the rice from the stove and let it steam for another 10 minutes with the lid on.
Finished.
I like to add a small piece of ginger to the rice.
