Boil the potatoes and cut into cubes, finely chop the red onion, thinly slice the radishes and gherkins and put everything in a bowl. Fry the ham without oil until crispy and add to the bowl.
Cut the other onion into small cubes, press the garlic and sauté both with plenty of oil, without the onion taking on any color.
Mix the remaining ingredients in a separate container and then add the hot or warm oil with the onions and mix everything thoroughly.
Then pour the warm marinade over the potatoes and mix everything together.
If you like, you can add a diced apple and herbs (chives and / or parsley) to the salad.
You can eat the salad lukewarm straight away. But it tastes even better if you let it steep a little.
