Cut the smoked pork into bite-sized cubes and fry them vigorously in heated oil. Add the roughly diced onion to the brown smoked pork and let it stew briefly, then add the sauerkraut. Mix everything well and let simmer for about 5 minutes.
Add the sour cream and the broth and season well with the spices. Let simmer on a low heat for about 1 hour, add sugar and carefully add salt if necessary.
