Instructions

  1. Remove the outer leaves of the chicory. Bring the water with salt, sugar, lemon or vinegar to the boil, add the chicory and cook for 10 minutes. Halve the drained chicory lengthways, cut out the bitter stalk.
  2. Spread out the ham slices, brush each with about a teaspoon of tomato paste and add plenty of pepper. Place one chicory each (one half for very large chicory) on a slice of ham and roll it up, place the rolls side by side in a baking dish.
  3. For the sauce, heat the cream and add the processed cheese. Cook while stirring until the processed cheese has completely dissolved. Pour the sauce over the chicory in the baking dish, it should not be completely covered, otherwise the cheese will sink into the sauce. Sprinkle with the grated cheese.
  4. Bake at 200 ° C for ~ 30 minutes (conventional oven)
