Lavash Rolls with Minced Chicken, in Batter Instructions

  1. Prepare all ingredients. It is better not to take lavash out of the package in advance, otherwise it will dry out and become brittle and inelastic.

  2. Chop the onions very finely or chop with a blender.
  3. Combine minced chicken, onions, salt and black pepper in a bowl. If desired, you can add your favorite spices – curry, turmeric or fresh herbs.
  4. Spread a sheet of lavash about 30×40 cm in size on a flat surface of a table or board.
  5. Put half of the minced meat on a sheet of pita bread, spread with the back of a spoon over the entire surface.
  6. Gently roll the minced chicken pita sheet into a roll.
  7. Do the same with the remaining pita bread and minced chicken.
  8. Using a sharp knife, cut each roll across into 7-8 pieces.

  9. Prepare the batter. Combine eggs and milk in a bowl and shake with a whisk or fork.
  10. In a separate deep bowl, combine flour, potato starch (you can use cornstarch), baking powder, and salt. Pour in the egg and milk mixture and mix well until smooth.
  11. The batter will be like pancake dough and will drip from a whisk or fork in a thick stream.
  12. Dip each piece of lavash with minced meat in the resulting batter from all sides.
  13. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet. Place the batter pita rolls in the skillet. Cover and cook over low heat for about 4-5 minutes.

  14. Then flip the lazy “pies” over to the other side, cover again and fry for another 3-4 minutes. Such a long frying is necessary so that the minced chicken inside the rolls has time to cook.
  15. Put the finished lazy “pies” on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
  16. Fry the rest of the pita bread with minced meat in the same way.
  17. Serve ready-made pita rolls stuffed with minced meat to the table, adding herbs and your favorite sauce if desired. Parsley and ketchup are great.
  18. The section shows that the minced chicken is cooked and turned white.
  19. These makeshift pies are perfect as a snack outside the home – at school, at work, or outdoors.

Bon Appetit!
