Instructions

  1. Wash and clean the leek sticks and cut into pieces approx. 10 cm long. Then cook in salted water until firm to the bite. But they must not be too soft.
  2. Roll the cooked sticks in boiled ham and layer them side by side in a greased casserole dish. If you want, you can sear them all around beforehand.
  3. From the second line onwards, make a bechamel sauce from the ingredients described above. By chopping the onion into small pieces, sautéing it in the butter, adding the flour and deglazing with the milk as required and stirring it well so that no lumps are formed. Season to taste with salt, white pepper and nutmeg. Then add the grated hard cheese to the bechamel sauce.
  4. The bechamel sauce is spread over the leek rolls and everything is pushed into the preheated oven and baked at 180-200 ° C for 30 minutes.
  5. 10 minutes before taking it out, a sprinkled cheese is spread over the whole thing again, which can be any cheese, such as Emmentaler or the like.
  6. You can eat it without a side dish, but you can also serve it with other side dishes.
