Wash the lettuce leaves well and let them drain. Heat the oil in a saucepan and sauté the onion and garlic in it. Deglaze with broth.
Add the peas to the broth and simmer gently for 5 minutes. Cut the lettuce leaves into small pieces and add. Let simmer for another 2 minutes.
Pour the cream into the soup and puree everything finely with the hand blender. Season to taste with salt and chili powder. Briefly heat the soup again and serve.
I like the soup best with fried ham or bacon and homemade croutons.
