Instructions

1. Chop the onions and apple and place in a saucepan with the tomatoes. Add the other ingredients and cook for 20 minutes until the apple is soft.
2. Remove the clove, puree the sauce and then strain. This creates the usual ketchup consistency.
3. Pour the hot sauce into clean glass containers and seal them. Turn the glasses upside down until the sauce has cooled.
