Instructions

  1. Peel the ginger and cut into very thin slices. Bring the water, sugar and ginger to the boil and simmer for 15 minutes. Stirring occasionally.
  2. Meanwhile, squeeze the limes and lemons. Remove the syrup from the stove and add the juice. Pour through a sieve into a sterilized 1 l flip-top bottle, allow to cool and then chill in the refrigerator.
  3. Serve with ice-cold water / soda. Approx. 100 ml of syrup are required for 1 liter of water.
  4. With these quantities it is a rather acidic variant. Just use less fruit or more sugar, depending on your taste.
  5. Depending on your taste, a sprig of fresh mint can be added after the cooking process and removed after 1 minute.
  6. The syrup can be kept in the refrigerator for at least a week. The specified amount is sufficient for approx. 1 liter of lemonade syrup, from which approx. 10 liters of lemonade can be made.
