Instructions

  1. With this agent, breads get their special shine. Looks like mud, that`s why I also lovingly call it magic mud.
  2. I am putting this recipe in here because I am asked about it so often. My bread is coated with it after baking (15 minutes for me) and then again for 15 minutes before the bread is finished. In my photo album you can look at the breads that have been coated with it, here especially the wheat bread from Delphinella and my double-baked rye bread, you can recognize it particularly well from these breads.
  3. Mix all ingredients well so that there are no more lumps. Bring everything to the boil once, allow to cool and pour into a jar.
  4. Since I bake almost every day, a glass like this lasts about 10 days in the fridge.
