Instructions

  1. Make a smooth dough from all the ingredients for the dough, this has or should have approximately the consistency of a pasta dough. Season the mince with salt and pepper and add the finely diced onions and the finely diced potatoes. Mix everything together well.
  2. Roll out the dough thinly and cut into rectangles about the size of a palm. Put 3 - 4 teaspoons of filling on every other plate and cover with the remaining pastry plates. The top should cover the filling. Now be careful! Pull up the 4 corners of the lower plate and press them together. The whole thing then looks like a small package. Continue until all of the batter and filling are used up.
  3. The manti are cooked over steam and take about 15-20 minutes to cook through. In between, take 1 mantie and try to see if it`s done. They are done when the mince is firm and the potato pieces are soft. Serve the finished manti with the sour cream flavored with the spices of your choice.
  4. Note: I got it for lunch at my girlfriend`s place, none of us managed more than 2 manti. But they are also a great dinner.
