Instructions

  1. It is best to make the syrup a day before use. To do this, bring the sugar with the water to a boil in a saucepan. Simmer for a minute or two and remove from heat. Allow to cool completely, place in a sealable container and place in the refrigerator until ready to use. Much less is needed for this recipe. What is left can be stored in the refrigerator until the next use.
  2. For the margarita, put the melon pulp in a taller blender jar. Purée finely with the hand blender. Add the tequila, triple sec, lime juice and syrup and stir everything well. This amount makes one large margarita glass.
  3. It looks very nice and also tastes good if you moisten the edge of the glass with water, put some sugar in a dessert plate and press the edge of the glass into it. Let it dry and pour in the margarita.
