Mix the ketchup, honey and the chilli into a marinade. Brush the washed and dabbed dry chicken breasts with it and chill for at least 2 hours or better overnight.
Then heat the oil in a pan, salt and pepper the chicken breasts. Fry slowly (not too hot to prevent the marinade from burning).
Halve the tomatoes, remove the stalk, divide the halves into sixths. Cut the onions into half rings.
Melt the butter in a small pan, add the onions and sweat a little (they shouldn`t brown), add a little sugar, thyme leaves and tomatoes, salt and pepper (just heat the tomatoes briefly, they shouldn`t disintegrate).
Arrange the chicken breasts on the tomato-onion-vegetables and serve. Ribbon noodles or baguettes go well with this.
