Heat 250 ml milk. Crumble the yeast and dissolve in it. Knead with 500 g flour, 75 g sugar, 100 g butter and egg until smooth. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
Drain the cherries and collect the juice.
Mix the sauce powder, 2 tablespoons of sugar and 5 tablespoons of juice until smooth. Bring the rest of the juice and 125 ml of water to the boil. Stir in the sauce powder and continue to simmer for approx. 1 minute. Fold in the cherries.
Cut the marzipan into 24 pieces.
Knead the dough on a little flour, shape into a roll, cut into 24 pieces. Shape each into a ball, placing 1 piece of marzipan in the middle. Put in a greased springform pan. Let rise for about 20 minutes.
Heat 125 ml milk, 2 tablespoons sugar and 50 g butter. Pour over the Buchteln. Bake in the preheated oven (electric stove: 200 ° C / convection: 175 ° C / gas: level 3) for about 35 minutes.
Serve with cherries. Vanilla or chocolate sauce goes well with it.
