Drain the sour cherries and chop them up a little.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees top / bottom heat.
Beat the butter, sugar, salt and vanilla until creamy and add the marzipan. Add the egg and beat everything until frothy. Mix the flour and baking powder and add to the dough. Then stir in the ground almonds. Finally fold in the sour cherries.
Put well heaped tablespoons of the batter in a cookie baking dish. Flatten everything. Place the cookies in the bottom third of the oven and bake for about 12 minutes.
Then remove the mold and let it cool down for at least 10 minutes. Finally, carefully remove the cookies from the mold and let them cool on the grid.
