First peel and quarter the potatoes. Place in a saucepan with salted water and cook.
In the meantime, peel the carrots and cut them into slices. Put a little sugar in salted water and bring to the boil.
When the potatoes are well done, drain and steam briefly on the stove so that the excess water evaporates. Now mash the potatoes while adding the already heated milk and butter until the mixture is nice and smooth. Possibly add salt.
The carrots should be done by now. Now drain, steam and fold evenly with a spoon into the mashed potatoes. Sprinkle with parsley or carrot greens to serve.
Delicious meatballs with braised onions also taste great.
