Heat oil in a pot. Add the grated onion, garlic, cloves, turmeric, sugar and tomatoes. Let simmer for 15 minutes.
In the meantime, mix the minced meat with the chopped onions, lemon juice, salt, chili powder and coriander and form small dumplings. Melt butter or margarine in a second saucepan and fry the dumplings in it all around.
Add meatballs to the sauce and simmer for another 15 minutes.
