It was generally supposed to be soup. But because of the small saucepan, I got more like the second – meatballs with potatoes. But tasty and satisfying!
Cook: 1 hour Servings: 5
Ingredients
Minced meat (the fattier the minced meat, the tastier) – 500 g
Finely chop 2 onions. Put the minced meat in a bowl, add the onion, washed rice, salt, and pepper. Mix well. Minced meat for meatballs is ready. We form small meatballs with wet hands. Fry them in hot vegetable oil.
Put the finished meatballs in a saucepan (a pan is needed with a volume of at least 4 liters), add the bay leaf. Put potatoes on top, salt. (You can add bouillon cubes, spices if desired.) Fill with water. As much water as you want the dish to be liquid or thick, but keep in mind that after cooling, the meatballs will increase and take part in the water – so that it does not turn out too thick. Cook the potatoes until tender.
At this time, we are preparing the frying. To do this, lightly fry the chopped onions, carrots, and peppers in vegetable oil. Add chopped tomatoes (for example, cut in half and grated) or tomato paste. We simmer everything together for 10-15 minutes.
When the potatoes are ready, add frying to the pan, let it boil, and turn it off. Add chopped garlic and finely chopped parsley immediately. Mix a little and cover the meatballs with potatoes with a lid. Let stand for 5 minutes.
