Mix red wine with balsamic vinegar and sugar and reduce to about a third in a syrupy manner.
Wash and clean the strawberries and cut into pieces. Wash the basil, shake dry and pluck the leaves. Put some leaves aside for garnish, cut the others into strips. Arrange the mozzarella in slices on small plates. Mix the balsamic syrup with a little grape seed oil, pepper, basil and strawberries and spread over the mozzarella slices. Garnish with the basil leaves at the end.
