Instructions

  1. We simply stir the first 6 ingredients into a quark dish and put the quark cream in a cool place.
  2. Meanwhile we clean the strawberries and marinate them with a little Cointreau or Grand Marnier. If small children eat with them, a normal sugaring or a dash of raspberry syrup is of course sufficient. While the fruit is also cooling, we take care of the deposits.
  3. We cut the bread into small cubes with a knife, or crumble it with our hands and mix it with honey and turnip tops.
  4. When serving, we layer the bread mixture in dessert glasses and pour the tempered strawberries on top and finally the quark cream. If desired, we can garnish the dessert and put it in the fridge until eaten or eat it right away.
  5. Annotation:
  6. There are various delicious options for this traditional dessert. For example, instead of the pumpernickel, you can use caramelized oat flakes in the pan, or a mixture of oat flakes and nuts, as you like. Normal, toasted bread or toast cubes also taste very good in it.
  7. As far as the fruit is concerned, we can of course vary as we wish: e.g., with filleted oranges, mandarins, apple or pear compote, cherries, peaches, etc.
