Instructions

  1. Bring a high coated pan to 3/4 heat. Add the fat bacon and let it turn to glass so that the fat comes out. Add the bacon and fry for about 3 minutes, turning several times. Now add the shallots and the garlic and let them turn to glass. Finally add the diced tomatoes, green pepper and mustard. Keep frying and stirring frequently until a sediment forms in the pan and the liquid has largely boiled away.
  2. Now deglaze with the orange juice. Add cola and tomato strains and bring to the boil. Now reduce the heat to 1/3 and add all other liquid ingredients. Simmer gently and stir occasionally until the sauce is reduced to half of the original amount.
  3. Add the spices according to the list of ingredients and stir in thoroughly. Let it steep for another 20 minutes over a low heat, stirring occasionally.
  4. Now comes the big decision: if you like the sauce in pieces, leave it as it is. Lovers of evenly creamy sauces now pour into a mixing bowl and puree thoroughly with the magic wand.
  5. Tip: If you like an even stronger smoke taste, get “Liquid Smoke” online. This is a distillate made from smoke from hickory wood. But please use carefully, drop by drop, as it is very (!) Aromatic.
