Mix the minced meat with thyme, black pepper and salt and fry it in a non-stick pan. Set the fried mince aside in a bowl, leaving the fat in the pan.
Quarter the Chinese cabbage lengthways and cut out the hard white stalk. Cut the tender, light green leaves into narrow strips and set aside. Cut the white stalks into strips and fry the minced meat in the pan. Scatter caraway seeds, salt and white pepper over the top and let simmer briefly. Add the strips of light green leaves and let simmer for about 1/2 minute.
Now layer in 3 small baking dishes as follows: a thin layer of cabbage, diced tomatoes, 1 thin layer of minced meat, 1 slice of ham and 1 slice of cheese. Layer the whole thing a total of 2 times per form.
Bake in the hot oven for approx. 15-20 minutes until the cheese has a nice golden brown color. Serve immediately.
