Cut the sausages into pieces about as thick as a finger. Carefully put approx. 8-10 spaghetti through each piece of sausage, put aside.
Bring the water with a little broth to the boil in a large saucepan, put all the pieces of sausage littered with pasta in water and cook the pasta until al dente.
Drain and serve sprinkled with ketchup, tomato sauce or cheese as desired.
