Instructions

  1. First separate the eggs. Then sieve the flour and mix with baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Mix in the egg yolks, milk and vanilla sugar and beat the egg whites with sugar to a creamy snow. Then fold the egg whites and nuts alternately into the mixture.
  2. Brush the hot baking surface of the waffle maker with a little butter and then only pour in enough batter to cover the surface thinly. Bake the waffles for approx. 5 - 6 minutes and remove them (the baking time may vary depending on the appliance).
  3. Bake waffles with the rest of the batter and finally serve with whipped cream and sour cherries or sprinkle with powdered sugar.
