Instructions

  1. Bring the milk to a boil in a larger saucepan. Add the oat flakes, a pinch of salt and a splash of lemon juice and bring to the boil briefly.
  2. Then simmer on a low flame for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in the vanilla sugar and add the remaining white sugar to taste.
  3. Tip: Portion the still warm oatmeal and sprinkle with brown sugar. Let it sit briefly and then add the fruits.
  4. Fresh or canned fruits (I use unsweetened) are suitable as a fruit side dish.
