Instructions

  1. Wash the lemongrass stalks and the lime. Halve the lemongrass and cut the tubers into rings. Cut the stems lengthways into strips or, if you like, into fans. Cut the lime into slices and set aside. Save the two ends of the lime. If desired, cut some ginger into thin slices, amount according to taste, can also be added while cooking.
  2. If desired, heat 2 teaspoons of sugar in a saucepan and caramelize a little. Squeeze the lime juice from both ends. When the sugar turns slightly brown, slowly add 1 liter of water. Don`t be alarmed if the sugar solidifies, it will gradually dissolve. When the water boils, add the lemongrass, the lime slices and the ginger. Let cook for 5 minutes. Then take it off the stove and let it steep for 10 minutes.
  3. Put the tea with lime and lemongrass in a cup. Sweeten a little to taste.
