Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190 ° C (hot air 160 ° C). Either grease and flour a 24 cm springform pan or line it with baking paper.
  2. Peel the onions, halve if necessary and cut into fine strips. Heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a saucepan or pan (do not let it get too hot) and steam the onions in it until they are soft.
  3. Mix two eggs well with the milk and season with salt and pepper.
  4. For the dough, mix the quark with 3 teaspoons of oil, 1 egg and a little salt. Mix the flour and baking powder and knead in one after the other until the dough is smooth.
  5. Pour the dough into the baking pan, press it flat with your fingers and pull up a small edge. Spread the onions evenly on the dough and pour the egg milk over it.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes. Since every oven bakes differently, the chopstick test should be made. The egg milk should be curdled and the bottom cooked.
  7. The onion pie can be eaten hot or let it cool down a little. It tastes very good even when warmed up, so it can also be prepared well.
  8. If you want to prepare the dough with wholemeal flour, you should add an extra tablespoon of water.
