Instructions

  1. Halve or quarter the vegetable onion as desired, cut into 3 - 4 mm thick slices, place them in a bowl and pull apart with a fork.
  2. Put the sugar in a saucepan, mix with the oil and water and bring to the boil while stirring. Pour the boiling mixture over the onions, they should be covered by the liquid, then allow to cool and cover and refrigerate for about 24 hours.
  3. Then strain the onions, rinse well with cold water and serve.
  4. I eat them B. very much liked as a savory addition to dinner, they taste mildly sour, no longer spicy and are very digestible.
  5. You can easily keep them in a food storage container in the refrigerator for a few days.
