Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage. Quarter the cabbage and cut out the stalk. Either plan the cabbage or cut it into small pieces with a knife. Fry the bacon cubes with oil in a pan over medium heat until crispy. Let cool down. Save the frying fat. Mix the cubes of bacon with the frying fat, vinegar, salt, pepper, sugar and mayonnaise. Then pour over the cut cabbage strips and mix well. Cover the salad and let it steep in the refrigerator for at least half an hour. Then serve chilled.
