Halve the chilli lengthways, remove the core, wash and roughly chop. Mix the lime juice with the salt and curry, gradually adding in the olive oil. Stir in the chilli pieces and let the marinade steep for 20 minutes.
Drain the mozzarella and cut into slices.
Halve, core and peel the papaya and cut the halves crosswise into slices.
Wash the basil and pluck the leaves from the stems.
Arrange the mozzarella and papaya slices on a plate like roof tiles and put the basil leaves in between.
Pour the marinade over the slices and coarsely grind some fresh pepper over them to serve.
Serve with ciabatta or baguette with the salad, if you like.
