Instructions

  1. All ingredients should be at room temperature and the liquid should be lukewarm.
  2. Mix the flour with the yeast, salt and sugar well. Gradually add the liquid and knead everything vigorously. Finally add the lard and knead vigorously again.
  3. In a bowl, cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let rise in a warm place until it has at least doubled. This takes about 1 hour.
  4. Preheat the oven to 200 ° C.
  5. When the dough has risen properly, knead again and shape into an elongated loaf and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Brush with a little water and put in the oven.
  6. Bake in the oven for 1 hour, check in between that the bread is not too dark, otherwise lower the temperature to approx. 175 ° C.
