Cook the noodles al dente. Cut the peppers into small pieces and halve the cocktail tomatoes.
Meanwhile, caramelize the sugar in a large pan (be careful that it doesn`t burn and then taste bitter!). Add the pureed tomatoes, stir immediately and simmer until the sugar has dissolved. Add the hot peppers and season with salt, pepper and oregano. Finally add the cocktail tomatoes and simmer for another 1-2 minutes.
Fold in the pasta and garnish with basil leaves.
If you like, you can also mix in a little diced mozzarella.
