While the salted water for the pasta is getting hot, let the oil get hot in a pan too. Then leave the diced ham in it and sauté the onions. Then add the tomatoes and let boil briefly. Add the peppers and season with pepper, paprika and garlic powder. Careful with the dosage, better to season again! Put the penne rigatoni in the boiling salted water and cook for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, simmer the sauce on a low heat and melt the mozzarella in it. Finally add the basil to taste and stir. Drain the pasta and mix with the sauce.
