Instructions

  1. For the dough, knead all the ingredients and prepare a yeast dough. Then cover the dough in a warm place and let rise for 30 minutes.
  2. After the rest period, sprinkle the worktop with flour and form eight balls out of the dough.
  3. For the filling, mash the sheep`s cheese with a fork. Cut the parsley into small pieces. Mix the sheep cheese, parsley and egg.
  4. For the garlic sausage filling, cut the garlic sausage into slices and grate the cheese.
  5. Roll out the balls in an oval shape. Cover two doughs with half of the sheep`s cheese filling each. Fold the sides inwards.
  6. Cover the other doughs with the garlic sausage and sprinkle the cheese on top. Fold the edges inwards again.
  7. The filled pide are baked in a pizza oven for about five minutes and eaten warm.
  8. Coat the edges of the finished pide with butter.
  9. The pide tastes best when it is baked in a stone oven. I bake them in a pizza oven and they taste like a brick oven.
  10. Ayran goes very well with Pide.
