Heat the milk and stir in the rice. Simmer over low heat, stirring, until the rice has absorbed all of the milk.
Turn off the stove and fold the pineapple and desiccated coconut into the rice. Add sugar to taste.
This dessert can also be easily prepared in a lower-calorie version. Use milk with a fat content of 0.1% or 0.3% and replace the sugar with a sweetener.
Important: Please do not prepare the dessert with fresh pineapple. These contain an enzyme that makes milk bitter.
