Instructions

  1. First chop the onion and garlic as small as possible. Then sweat with a small piece of butter in a small saucepan for 3-4 minutes.
  2. During this time peel and grate the carrot. It is best to use a fine grater so that the pieces in the butter are not too big later.
  3. Add the carrot, tomato paste and the pizza spice to the saucepan and stir everything until it is homogeneous. Remove the pan from the heat and add the remaining butter. The contents of the pot should still be hot enough to melt the butter while stirring. Finally, stir in a splash of lemon juice and some milk or cream, this makes the spread even creamier.
  4. Transfer everything to a bowl, let it cool and let it set in the refrigerator.
  5. The pizza butter tastes great as a spread or can also be used as a seasoning for cooking. We also like to dip them with crackers.
